What does searchable PDF mean?

A searchable PDF contains an invisible text layer added over the image. The document still looks like a scanned page, but you can select text, copy it, and use Ctrl+F to search for words. Standard PDF readers support this format.

How accurate is the OCR?

Accuracy depends on image quality. Clear, high-contrast, well-lit photos of printed text achieve high accuracy. Handwriting, unusual fonts, or low-quality scans produce lower accuracy.

Is my document uploaded to a server?

No. All OCR processing and PDF creation happens entirely in your browser using the Tesseract.js library. Your files never leave your device.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Yes. Upload multiple images and they will each become a separate page in the output PDF, in the order you uploaded them.

What image formats are supported?

PNG, JPG, WebP, and TIFF images are supported. For best results use PNG or high-quality JPG files.
